Tenth Day in New York

Yesterday morning, my grandma had a hair appointment near my aunts house. I didn't really want to go to the hair appointment, so, I stayed at my aunt's house for an hour. When I got there we fixed 2 fishing poles. Then, the kid next door who is kind of weird walks in to the garage and trips over a fishing pole and breaks it into 2 pieces. Then, he said "That must be a cheap one."

When we got home, we had lunch, then, my grandpa and I mowed the lawn. Then, my grandpa got his brush mower out and mowed over 2 flower beds, a path to a perch in the field, a path around the dump pile, and to the next door neighbors.

That night, during dinner my grandma was playing golf, so, my grandpa and I had to make dinner. But luckily show left some stew in the refrigerator.

9th Day in New York

Yesterday morning, my grandpa and I cut down a hemlock tree that was right next to the house. We also trimmed some vines and bushes. Before lunch, my grandma and I went down to the pond and I fished. I caught the big fish. It was about a foot long and while bringing it in I jerked it and it flew out of the water into some high grass. The line snapped, luckily I brought a second pole because of that problem. On the second pole the line snapped when I casted. Then, I went swimming.

At 5:00 PM we went to the farmer's market. At 6:00 PM went to my cousin's middle school graduation. My aunt was there with her husband.

8th Day in New York

Yesterday morning, we had the gardener coming and the "computer guy" coming. At the same time of course. The "computer guy" worked on the computer for about 45 minutes. When he left, I helped the gardener. Then, the "dishwasher guy" pulls up into the driveway and my grandma never told me. He couldn't fix the dishwasher because he didn't have the part. He's supposed to come Thursday.

After we had lunch, my grandma and I went into town to go to Agway to get a sprinkler and to Wegmans for some groceries. On the way home, we had another stop, it was at the pharmacy. After that, we went down a couple residential streets so I could look at some houses. When we got home I watched a little TV. For dinner, we had salmon.

Seventh Day in New York

Yesterday, I got up very late (9:00 AM) and my grandpa went to play golf in the morning. When he got home, a neighbor came over to help put up the hawk perch. This time it was for real. Afterwords, My grandfather and I went to the library to pick up some papers to go to the bank. It ends up that we forgot papers at the house and we had to go back to the house. Then to the bank.
At 4:00 PM my aunt and my cousin came over. First, my cousin and I drove the tractor around the farm. Then, my cousin had to go to his baseball game, so, my aunt and I went fishing and swimming in a pond. Then, we went to the baseball game.

Sixth Day in New York (Father's Day)

Yesterday, I got up earlier than usual and at 8:oo AM my aunt came over to wish my grandpa a Happy Father's Day. At the same time the triathlon people came over to take an inventory count for what they need for this year's Cayuga Lake Triathlon. Then, I helped my grandpa put up the hawk perch, but it never went up. When I came back inside, I helped my grandma make the bed. Afterwords, we went to Brownie's (a farm stand) and got strawberries for a strawberry- rhubarb pie. On the way back we stopped at Taughannock Falls and walked over an old railroad bridge. When we got home I helped my grandpa some more to put up the perch. On the way back to the barn with the tractor I turned around in the woods because I wasn't very comfortable going over a certain bridge in that certain direction. But when I came out of the woods my grandpa had laid all of the stuff over the trail. He said "Go the other way." Then, I said" I'm uncomfortable going that direction on that bridge, I'm afraid the trailer will fall off the bridge because of the angle. I ended having to go over the bridge in that direction and right when I got on the bridge the trailer fell off and went into the creek. That night we had dinner out side. I saw a bunch of fireflies.

5th Day in New York

Yesterday morning, I went to my cousin's baseball game. The final score was 2- 10, they won. Afterwords, we took my cousin home, but on the way we stopped at Agway (a farm equipment store) to get 2 spark plugs and a fuel filter. When we got home, I mowed a part of the small field. When I was done mowing I saw this overturned bird nest in the field. I touched, a baby rabbit ran out, so I chased it. I touched it again, another baby rabbit ran out. Then, I picked the nest up and grabbed the rabbit. I showed it to my grandpa, he was amazed.

Fourth Day in New York

Yesterday, the tractor was never touched. In the morning, my grandpa went to play golf in the while my grandma and I went to the eye doctor for my grandma's checkup. When we got home we all had lunch, then, my grandpa and I went to the woods to get a tree that we cut down the day before. My grandpa wanted to to make a hawk perch out of it. To get it out of the woods we took the trailer for the tractor and put the tree on that. We put in the field. After dinner, we went to the next town over to go look at some birds. When we got there, there were no birds.

Third Day in New York

Yesterday morning a gardener came to the farm and did some gardening in the flower bed and some weeding, so I drove the tractor Meeting", while she was gone my grandpa and I worked in the woods clearing out more brush. I drove the tractor in to the woods then, it started sounding unusual, so my grandpa said to go put it in to the barn. That was the last of the tractor. That evening my grandpa gave a presentation at the library about his trip to Africa.

Second day in New York

Yesterday, I woke up really late ( 9:00 AM). Then, I went to the library which my grandpa is the president of and we went to the bank. The library was changing the treasurer to another person so the person needed to fill out paper work to the bank, but the bank made a mistake. When we got home, my grandpa and I trimmed back the branches in the woods that were going on the trails. It took about three hours and we're still not done. At 6:00 PM we were supposed to go to my cousin's baseball game but it was canceled.

First Day in New York

I'm going to my grandparents house in Upstate New York. My grandma came a couple days earlier to pick me up and then we would leave at 11:00 PM from San Fransisco to Washington D.C. (Dulles).During the flight I threw up. It was horrible. Then we went from Washington to Syracuse, NY, I slept most of the time. When we got to Syracuse we went to my grandma's car and drove home, because this was at 9:00 AM my grandma needed some coffee, so we stopped at the nearest coffee shop. We made another stop along the way, it was at a winery. We bought 12 bottles of wine. When we finally got home I started driving the tractor immediately because I was so anxious to do it. At around 1:30 PM, my grandpa and I started trimming the hedge. I took the little branches to the compost and he cut them off the hedge.
