New York 2013 Part 11

Yesterday, I went fishing and swimming with some kids from down the street in the pond. Very refreshing.

Then, after pizza
dinner, we went to see the play Gypsy at the Hangar Theatre.

Today, it was so hot that I stayed indoors most of the day, but during the afternoon I went out and mowed the lawns...

My aunt, uncle, and cousins came over for dinner and we played croquet.

New York 2013 Part 10

Yesterday we drove back upstate from New Jersey. It was about a 4 and a half hour drive.

Today was the tractor parade. It started at 3:00 PM and ended at 3:10. Then we had the after-party in the front lawn.

Then I went fishing and swimming in some people's pond. We also lit off fireworks.

New York 2013 Part 9

Yesterday, we went to my mom's old house just outside the New York City. We even went inside. We also visited old friends and drove by Meg Whitman's old house...

Then we drove into New York City. It was smooth sailing until Manhattan. Then it all stopped... Bumper to bumper across the island. When we got to our friends' house in New Jersey... We saw the view of THE WHOLE CITY.

Today, we caught the 10:00 AM ferry to the World Financial Center, where we got on the subway to Rockefeller Center (I may or may not have been on the today show or whatever horrible daytime television NBC has), where we met up with our friends for lunch.

After lunch, we went to the east village to go to Obscura. A very odd place... Then we got back on the subway and went to the Whitney Museum of Art, but it was closed. So we walked through Central Park to the New York Historical Society, a very interesting place, where we learned about the history of New York and saw a lot of Tiffany lamps. Then we went to Zabar's for wine, but no. We had go across the street (Broadway) to a liquor store.

Then we got on the 1 train to 50th street and went to Rockefeller Center again and saw my uncle's picture in the FDNY store.

Then we met back up with our friends and got on the bus to New Jersey.
