Eleventh Day in New York

Yesterday, I got a hair cut, finally. Then, I helped my mom and my grandma cut down a hideous bush. It was very big. Then, I put the small flags out in front of the house for the parade.

For lunch I had eggs and bacon in a bagel. After lunch I messed around with an old satellite receiver. It didn't work. For the rest of the after noon, I do much because it was very hot outside.

For dinner, we had shrimp and angel hair. After dinner, my mom and I went down the street to the pond. She caught 1 and I caught 4.

Tenth Day in New York

Yesterday, we picked my mom up at the airport. When we got back, she immediately started trimming the bushes and doing yard work. Then, we went to get fresh eggs at a friend's house. My mom insisted on taking the truck. When we got back, my grandma left for the grocery store and I made pound cake. Then, my mom took a nap while I waited for my cake.  When the cake finished, it was time to put the tractor decorations back together for the parade. My grandpa and I spent 45 minutes repairing it and putting it together. Then, my grandma got back and my mom woke up.

We had steak for dinner, then, we played Masterpiece.

Ninth Day in New York

Yesterday, I woke up, then I took a drive in the tractor. When I was driving, I saw the trapper had come to take away the woodchucks he trapped. He shot them on the spot. It was pretty disgusting. Then, I mainly drove the tractor around for the rest of the day until the late afternoon. Then, I went out with my grandma to pass out the rest of the flyers.

For dinner, we had meatloaf. After dinner, I watched America's Got Talent.

Eighth Day in New York

Yesterday, my grandpa woke me up and said that pancakes were ready. I came downstairs and found out that my grandma had already left for golf with my aunt. I had four pancakes. After breakfast I printed out 24 copies of the parade handout. Then we went in the car and handed out 17 of them and bought gas for the tractor. By the time we got back it was 2:00 PM. Then I drove the tractor around the farm. Grandma got home at around 4:00 PM.

For dinner, we had chicken. After dinner, we went the next village over to vote. After voting we went for ice cream. I had chocolate chip. When we got home it was 9:45 PM. At 10:00 PM, America's Got Talent starts. I watched all of America's Got Talent.

Seventh Day in New York: Finally Some Rain

When I got up, my grandma was preparing to go volunteer at the library. Then the computer guy came and finished his job of setting up the new computer. We basically talked about computers for 45 minutes. Then, I drove the tractor around. Then, I went onto the computer. During the after noon,I came downstairs and noticed that my grandpa had started mowing the lawn, so I got on the tractor and headed onto the lawn. I mowed a small lawn behind the garden and the whole back yard. After mowing I went with my grandma to one of the neighbor's house to discuss the parade. When I returned, I took a shower and when I got out, it was a torrential downpour outside.

After dinner, we watched Antiques Roadshow and I watched America's Got Talent.

Sixth Day in New York: Fence Repair 2

Yesterday, I had pound cake for breakfast. Then I worked on the handout for the tractor parade which is scheduled for the first of July. While working on the handout, my grandpa had gone to the lawn mower repair shop to get the lawn mower. When he got back, I mowed the hill behind the house and the small elevated lawn behind the house. When finished mowing, I helped my grandpa work on the fence. We got the fencepost in the ground and the fence boards attached to it. Then, I went fishing in the pond that we can eat the fish. I caught three and released one. When I got back, we were going to put the quikcrete around the fencepost but it started to rain.

For dinner I had fish that I caught and pork.

Fifth Day in New York: Fence Repair 1

Yesterday, I woke up and had pancakes. Then, I went out into the backyard to fix part of a fence that had been fallen on by a tree. We just had to put the boards back up. After lunch, we started repairing another part of the fence that had to be taken down to repair the septic system. For that project we had to go get a pressure treated 4x4 at the hardware store. But we only got to digging the hole. For dinner, we had salmon. 

Fourth Day in New York

Yesterday, I got up at 10:00 AM. When I got up, the computer guy was here helping my grandpa with his new computer. At ten thirty he left because of a family emergency. Then, I watched my grandpa mow a path around the field.

Then I went up onto the computer. In the late After noon, I went fishing then, watched "How I met Your Mother". For dinner, we had steaks and for desert we went to the ice cream shop and had ice cream.

3rd Day in New York: Hotter, Hotter, Hottest

This was the hottest day so far.

Yesterday, I woke up at a normal time, 9:00 AM. Then, I had French toast for breakfast. After breakfast, I looked at more of the old records. For lunch, my grandpa and I went to an organic deli. The rest of the after noon, I did about nothing. In the late afternoon, we headed to my aunt's house for my cousin's high school graduation. The graduation took place in a new athletic center. This was the third graduation I attended this year. This one, like all the other ones were too long. When we got back to my aunt's house I had grape nuts, rainbow sherbet, and raspberries. Then shot Airsoft guns in the backyard.

2nd Day in New York: Hot, Humid, Hot

Yesterday, I got up at 12 noon. Then had lunch, which was grape-nuts. After lunch / breakfast, I went upstairs to look at my grandparent's old record collection which was in an upstairs closet. The closet must have been at least 80F. I found Rhapsody in blue, South pacific, and the nutcracker suite. At 5:00 PM, we went to the farmer's market and had dinner. I had raspberries and chocolate ice cream.

Flying to New York

Yesterday, I flew to upstate New York on my annual trip to New York. My grandmother and I flew from San Fransisco to Newark, New Jersey. Then to Ithaca, New York. When we got to New York, my grandparent's neighbor picked us up at the airport. When we got the farm, I was very tired, for I had not slept on the plane. I sat down on the living room couch and feel asleep. I was asleep for three hours.

Before dinner, I found my grandparent's old Lionel train set. I took everything out of the boxes and set up and oval. I found two transformers that worked. I got one train going around in circles (barely).

Braces

Last Wednesday, I had braces put in. I will have to have them for two years. It took them about an hour to install them. It was painless. Later that day, the pain began. It hurt all over. I have a piece of metal sticking into my cheek (which is the main cause of pain), which I might have fixed on Monday. Overall, my teeth feel sore. 

Kitchen Accomplished

We have just put the finishing touches on our newly remodeled kitchen. We have replaced the stove, oven, counter top sink, under-counter lights, faucet, flooring, and hood. We also painted the cabinets white and put on new drawer pulls.
